Christmas Eve

Akiba again!

Visited Akiba again, cause the new Master Grade Gundam Unicorn was launched during the week.
There was a Transformers Movie DVD launch roadshow outside Yodobashi. On display is bumblebee!

At the other end of Yodobashi, there was another roadshow for the launch of Gundam “One Year War” collection DVD.

Book-Off, a large chain of shops in Japan that sells used books,manga, CD, DVD, games.
Was at 1 of the outlet near my place and saw this Ragnarok online OST which cost 1000yen ($13)

Tomioka Hachimangu

The largest “Hachimangu” (Shinto shrine to worship “Hachiman” god) in Tokyo, build in 1627 by an oracle.
Holds a festival every summer (around 15th of August) , which is numbered as one of the three major festivals of Tokyo.At the festival, more than 100 portable shrines carried by groups of people, descend the street.

Also known as Akihabara Electric Town (秋葉原電気街, Akihabara Denki Gai). in short, can be called akiba. Akihabara is best-known as one of the largest shopping areas on Earth for electronic, computer, anime, and otaku goods, including new and used items.
My collegues call this place, land of geeks/nerds ..

“Admin” day

Spend the 3th day doing admin things.. like registering for gaijin(外人)/Alien card (Yes, foreigners are aliens in Japan!), opening a bank account and buying keitai Denwa(携帯電話).. handphone
 In Japan, Signature is not often used, instead they use name stamp, which is call inkan (印鑑)or hanko(はんこ)in Japanese.
my inkan, which cost 2750yen($36).. ouch!

neighourhood

I’m staying at koto-ku(江東区), 1 of the 23 ward of Tokyo. Its quite a quiet place.. and is near sumida river. and its a has access to 5 train station nearby, thus able to reach other places quite easily.
